Do not install the new catalytic converter. This is not the problem. If you had a plugged catalytic converter it would effect the whole engine, low power, and the engine would overheat as the exhaust would be plugged and choke out the entire engine. So, you have a class A [defined as a catalyst damaging misfire] misfire in cylinder #2. An engine, or in this case, a cylinder needs only three things to fire, compression, fuel, and spark [delivered at the proper time]. You have replaced the spark plug and the coil is good so that takes care of the spark. So let's start by making sure you have good compression in #2 cylinder.
