I am familiar with the code P0301 being that of a cylinder one misfire. P0201 being that of a number one fuel injector malfunction. I am not familiar with the two codes being thrown together. I do have a check engine light on. I also have my auto start stop illuminated. The odd part of the situation is it started with the auto start stop light being illuminated. Then added the check engine light. Which flashed or flashes different sequences of numbers also to my awareness being different types of codes within a code. But sometimes both lights will be on together, sometimes it'll be just the check engine, sometimes it'll be just the auto start stop, sometimes it'll be neither. The rough idle only tends to come with the auto start stop light illuminated. If they are both illuminated it's a rough idle throttle. However, if at any point the auto starts stop light goes off the roughness disappears completely. I have read amongst many forums that it could be anywhere from the ignition coil to the fuel injector and so on. I am curious to see if you can get me a schematic for the removal of the intake to get to the injectors? And also, what my firing order is. Any other opinions suggestions questions Etc please do feel free to ask or state within your response. I do have a new ignition coil and plug to replace in cylinder one to see if that rectifies the situation. That is going to be in my opinion my best starting point. I have done a scan on it obviously. However, the scan tool that I used did not have a data Freeze Frame. I will shortly obtain that information and get it posted as well. Thank you so very much in advance you guys are amazing at what you do.

Hi,

I suspect the problem is the fuel injector or the injector circuit. The code, as you know, indicates an issue with the cylinder 1 injector. Specifically, it indicates an open circuit. This issue is the most likely cause of the P0301 and the auto start/stop is designed to be disabled if this code is set. So, that part of it is normal for the condition.

If you look below, I attached the diagnostics specific to the P0201. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

The first 12 pics are the diagnostics. Pics 13 - 17 are the directions for removing the injectors. This requires the removal of the upper intake. The remaining pics are the directions for removing it.

Let me know if this helps or if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe

Joe,

Thank you so very much for the info. Yes, I am comfortable performing the diagnosis myself. Although it may take me a few days to get to it. I will follow the instructions you have given in detail and get back to you. Greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. Sorry, there are so many steps. Actually, in comparison to some diagnostics, this one is short. LOL

Regardless, when you have a chance, let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
