Hi,
If the transmission was removed, it may have caused ground issues or even damaged one or two.
Since the MAF code returned, here is what I need you to do. Disconnect it and check pins B and D for ground. (See pic below)
Pin B should be a chassis ground. Pin D is a low reference. A low reference ground in a car's electrical system refers to a specific ground connection used as a reference point for sensors and components that generate or measure low-voltage signals.
Let me know what you find.
