Recently I checked my “check engine light” with a OBDII reader and I got P0121. “Throttle position sensor performance”. I just went to my local repair shop to ask them how much they thought it would cost to repair it. They told me that they could not find a replacement part for the throttle position sensor, and that they would have to run a diagnostic which starts at $99.00. Is this true? What could be wrong? Any idea as to how much in total this could possibly cost me?

Okay, that code actually indicates that air flow is more than the PCM expects it should be, based on the reported throttle position. It could be a bad sensor, or it could be an air leak of some sort. I am attaching ALLData's information on the code in the images below. I get that you may not be able to run all of the tests, but do what you can. I am also including a link to our how-to guide on finding and fixing vacuum leaks: https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-an-engine-vacuum-gauge

Hopefully you will be able to find and fix your problem using it. Let us know what you find.
