Code P0017 again

A year ago when I changed my timing belt and components, my car threw a p0017 and p0016 code. I replaced the solenoid valves and camshaft sensors. The light was still on so I took it to the dealership. It has been off a year until now, but they said they didn't do anything it just went off by itself. The car runs fine and no loss of power. I replaced my timing belt and components again about 5,000 miles ago. Not sure what to try next. I hear no noise from the timing area the screens on the valves are clean, and the belt is tight within clearance.

Hello thank for using 2CarPros.

You replaced the camshaft inlet and exhaust solenoids with camshaft sensors problem still the same. The next step is to check the wires resistance and short circuit between the control unit and both camshaft solenoids. check the wiring diagram picture 1.

You can also check both camshaft adjustments by scanner live data and compare with the given set point.
make sure if the valve timing is correct also can effect the fault codes p0017 and p0016.
when do the faults appear at ignition on? at idle? or at acceleration? Can the fault be erased? both faults appear with each other?Is the engine oil viscosity as manufacturer specification?

I have used the same Mobil1 5w30 for the last 80,000 miles. The code will erase and stay gone until I shut it off and start it again. It comes on about five to ten seconds after starting and stays on unless I clear it. The connector is broken, but wires are still secure with the solenoid leads.

Check the wires between the engine management and the camshaft actuator solenoids they can be shorted. Also check the battery if its good because you get the fault when starting.
