Overheating and immobile after oil change

I took my car for an oil change and inspection on Friday. Now on Monday, the car overheated to the point where the dash told me to pull over. After getting the car to a mechanic, the car won't reverse and is essentially unable to move. It does turn on! But it seems as if nothing happens when you push the gas. What might be going on? Is this related to the oil change?

Normally I would say no, unless the workshop made some grave error. you need to check the oil level and the coolant to make sure that they are both full. if you can do that first and post back with what you find that will be a great start. Below are some links to assist you in checking the basics first.

I don't have the car in my possession so I can't check but it seems really unlikely for the fluids to be low when I had an oil change, with fluids check, done 3 days prior to this.

I'm being told now that there is internal damage. What damage, however, I don't know. I just can't believe it. I read somewhere that Ford Fusion Hybrids have a bit of a reputation for bad transmission around 80,000 miles and my car is 82,000.

Hi,

We haven't heard from you for a couple of days. Have you received any additional information or have other questions?
