My car begin overheating and I noticed that the overflow tank hose was leaking a lot. Will this leaking hose for the overflow cause my car to overheat?

Good evening,

If the coolant level in the radiator goes low, yes it can.

Did you verify the coolant level?

It could be the thermostat. I would replace it to be sure. It is simple to replace.

Run the engine at 1,200 rpm's and watch the coolant level and add as needed. When you get heat there is no more air. Put the cap on and take it for a ride.

You can while filling the coolant but not when it is running.

So just keep topping it off from the radiator until it's full?

Correct. Run it at 1,200 RPM's with the cap off and add as needed. When you get heat, the air is out of the system. Then install the cap and let it idle.

You will need a second person for this.
