Why does the light s blinks? Does changing gear oil damage the transmission?

The blinking light is telling you there is a fault on the transmission. Changeing the ATF on a vehicle with this amount of miles on the car, can cause more damage than do good. Unlees the fluids have been changed at regular intervals over the cars life !
