The black and green wire coming from battery negative going to the EEC, if this wire were to come loose and make a quick but solid contact with the battery positive, would this immediately fry the EEC? Also, when the key is first turned on and the fuel pump and check engine light come on momentarily, where does this voltage come from? EEC, ignition switch or starter relay fuse links. Thank you.

Good afternoon.

The power starts at the ignition switch.

As far as the short, yes, if you power up the ground wire to the control module, it will definitely fry the module.

If the computer is fried should the check engine light and fuel pump still come on momentarily when the key is first turned on? Thanks

Good morning.

Depends on which area has failed inside the ECM.

What is your exact issue?
