I think I broke a wire connection to the rear lift motor under the seat where it plus into the motor. I can see a blue wire disconnected. It's the only function that won't work.

Hi,

If it's a light blue wire, that is for the rear vertical motor on the seat. If you take a look at the attached portion of the wiring schematic, it shows it.

What you will need to do is disconnect the connector and see if there is a way that it can be reattached. If it can't, chances are you will need to get a new connector and wiring.

Let me know. Also, let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

Thank you so much! It is a light blue wire. Can you tell me how to disconnect the connector?

Which seat are you seeing this wire and which function on the seat is not working? I imagine it is one of the functions with the blue wire but which is recline or the rear vertical. Clearly if the wire is not connected properly then that would be the issue.

Let me know if you can get a picture of the wire as it sits or if you just pull on the wire it should not pull out. If it does then you are correct. These terminals have a lock on them that will hold it in the connector so it should feel firm.

If it pulls out then you will need to take the connector apart and see if you can get it to seat back in. If you cannot then I would recommend getting a connector kit. Basically that is just a new connector with wires that you can solder into the existing harness so that you don't need to replace the entire harness.

Let's start with this and go from there.

It's the driver's side with an 8 way power control. The function not working is the vertical rear lift, it recliners, goes front and back and the front of the seat will raise and lower.

It seems you have two of us working on the same post. LOL As far as removing the clip, there is a plastic tab that needs lifted when pulling on the connector.

Let us know if you get it.

Photo of my issue. Think it's something a novice can fix at home? It seems pretty straight forward to me. But I'm not very experienced.

The only thing you can do is try. I see the yellow wire looks like it may be not far behind. See if you can remove the broken portion from the plug and reinstall the wire back into the plug. It may require soldering. If that doesn't work, you may need to get a new harness for that point.

Let me know if I can help.
