Rear end squeaks

1996 Oldsmobile 88 147,000 miles, 3800 engine
The rear end squeaks when I am driving around town. I was wondering if this could mean that I have bad springs and need new ones.

There are several realistic possiblities. If the noise bothers you have a shop find the noise and then quote the repair. OR get a few friends and bounce the car while someone looks for the noise. .....Just don't crush em!
