1986 Oldsmobile Firenza broken hood release cable

1986 Oldsmobile Firenza 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Is there any way to release the hood from outside of vehicle when cable is broken??

I've seen plenty of those plastic handles break. If the steel cable was still there, we would grab the cable with a pair of vice grips.

If the cable itself broke, you might be able to remove the front grill, look up in there and see where the cable attached. Maybe you can get on it with a screwdriver or pair of pliers and release it.
