1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Starts when it wants to

My card decided to take on an attitude problem. When I turn the key sometimes it starts sometimes it doesn't. All the lights come on and the ding thing makes the right noise but when I turn the key to start there is nothing not even a click. Usually if I wait a bit and try a few more times it will start. When it does start there is no hesitation at all. I am confused as to what the problem could be.
