Engine Cooling problem
1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Front Wheel Drive Automatic 60000 miles

I just noticed my low coolant light turned on, on my 88' oldsmobile. I added coolant and the light was still on. It has been on for about 3 days. My uncle is a mechanic and he told me it was the water pump. I travel roughly 30 miles one way to school. How long and how much will this run me on average? Any help would be great.

seems more like a faulty engine coolant level sensor (located just below the radiator cap, pic. below) than a faulty water pump then... I have provided an estimate for replacing the water pump on your vehicle anyway though.. COOLANT LEVEL SENSOR LOCATION
