I hAVE A 2000 OLDS BRAVADA I CANNOT SHIFT IT OUT OF PARK. I HAVE LEARNED THAT IT IS THE SHIFTLOCK SOLONOID, BUT I DON!T KNOW WHERE IT IS LOCATED. COULD YOU KIND GENTELMEN HELP ME OUT?

First check the fuses (back-up lamp, BTSI fuse)If ok remove plastic shield under driver side of the dash, locate brake light switch on pedal assembly. Test dark green/white wire for power with pedal depressed, if ok then you will need to remove the center console to gain access to the shift lock solenoid. Once you can get to solenoid on shifter, test same wire for power with brake pedal depressed, and test light green/black for power, if both ok, then the solenoid is bad
