1999 Oldsmobile Bravada Engine Size unknown All Wheel Drive Automatic 123000 miles

Yesterday I went out to start the car and when I turned the swith the lights and everything went off. The key got stuck in the start mode and I had a hard time getting it out. Finally I got the key to turn back to the start position and tried again. After the third time the car started. The clock was reset back to 1:00 but the radio presets were not affected. It has not done that again but I need to know if I should get it looked at or was it just a freak thing?

It sounds like your ignition switch is failing, it is located about half way down the steering colum on top of the steeing colum, to get to it you have to remove several panels then undo the four big bolts holding your steering colum up, then you can access the ignition switch, it has a metal shaft that goes up to the key ignition in the colom that is probally why your key would not come out right or turn properlly.
