2001 Oldsmobile Aurora 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 87K miles

This AM driving to work in the rain I had to turn on my wipers. I noticed that the passanger wiper is not working correctly. It wants to engage and travels about a quarter of it's normal cycle then thuds back down to rest point. The driver side is working normally however somehow while I was driving the two wipers became entagled and I had to stop and pull them apart. The drivers wiper now looks bent. Does each wiper have it's own motor or are they linked by connection rods? What should I do and how do I get at the assembly?

There is one motor. It is located under the cowl (outside) at the base of the windshield. It will need removed to access the linkage. Make sure the arm isn't loose before going to the trouble of removing it.
