bought 97 Olds 88 LS in good condition, and then noticed it skips going uphill sometimes, changed oil and filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, added STP and some higher octane gas but still skips sometimes, can you tell me what may be causing the problems???

No, engine light has never come on, and no other problems, think it might be failing fuel pump?

It could be. Here is a how to for checking it. You will need a gauge. Most parts stores will lend or rent one to you. Check it and let me know what you find.
