Had a code P06DA oil pump solenoid code, did all the hard work to drop the steering gear, the oil pan, pull off all accessories, and install a new GM oil pump including solenoid and interior wire harness. Also cleaned the pan thoroughly. Put it back together and it starts fine, and the code is gone, but almost immediately get a "zero oil pressure turn off engine" warning. How is this possible with a dual-stage oil pump? They always pump oil, even if they fail! Should I leave it on to see if oil starts circulating?

Hi,

When it indicates there is no pressure, do you hear any engine noise? For example, is there any ticking or knocking from the engine that would indicate no pressure?

If there is no noise, chances are there is an issue with a pressure sensor. Inspect the connector at the switch and see if there is anything damaged or loose. I attached a pic of its location.

Let me know.

Joe
