Saturday afternoon my check engine light came on. I dropped my vehicle at my regular mechanic, who could not look at it until the following morning.
Sunday morning he said it was one of the sensors in the oil filter housing assembly (I do not recall if he said temperature or pressure). He said it was a common problem with this make/model of Jeep. He also said he would need to do a coolant flush (I do not recall if it is due for a flush or if it is related to the problem). The cost is about $900.00.
Sunday evening the check engine light went out and it has not been back on since.
We did have a cold snap over the weekend, temperature got below freezing.
My question is this, should I still have the oil filter housing assembly replaced?
Thanks!
