I assume you are talking about the oil change prompt in the cluster that tells you when you need an oil change?
If so, this is simply a timer. It is programmed to a set algorithm by the OEM and it will go off at this set time no matter when you do an oil change or what oil you are using.
It is a common misunderstanding that this system actually measures the quality of the oil to tell you when it needs to be changed. It does not. So unless it is reset every time the oil is changed, it will most likely go off well before the next oil change is needed.
As for what oil you are using, I would suggest sticking to what the OEM suggests because this is what the engine was built with so the engineers know what needs to go in it. Don't listen to all these companies that say their oil is better because they are trying to sell you something. They may be correct that it is better but it is not needed. The oil from the OEM will do the same job as the more expensive oil but they are selling off of fear by making you think if you don't use their oil that your engine will fail. It is not the type of oil that causes the engine to fail. It is the lack of regular maintenance that causes an engine to fail. Then if you do perform every maintenance at the proper time and it still fails then it would have failed no matter what oil you were using.
