After using regular gas there is a knocking?

I've been using reg gas, found out not to, now back on track but still hear knocking. Please educate me about lifters.
also, what oil to use and where to get it? The book says only one kind only! Could that be the prob?

Hi,

As far as the engine oil, there are several brands you can use. However, it should be a 5W20 weight. See pic below.

Next, check out the following website. It explains the requirements of your vehicle, how the specifications have changed over the years, and what now is acceptable.

Now, the noise you hear should have gone away when changing to a higher-octane fuel. Believe it or not, high octane rated fuel is more difficult to ignite, which helps prevent pre-ignition and knocking. So, when you went back to the higher octane, the valve knock, or ping should have stopped.
