Yes, this car is OBD1, so it is all by itself as far as diagnostics. They say there is a 2 or 3 pin connector under the hood covered in a rubber or plastic wrap. Near the bulkhead/firewall, often close to the ECU or battery. If it is a 2-wire connector you may be able to bridge the gap with a small piece of wire and count the engine light flashes to get the trouble code.
For example, the light blinks once, then pauses, blinks two more times, and pauses and then finishes with five more blinks, the trouble codes will be 125.
