So I was driving back from the store truck bogged down to a crawl. Had a CEL(check engine light) on due to both banks running lean prior to this happening. After the bog down the CEL disappeared. Took it to a shop and they said that the computer has gone out because they cant get the scan tool to communicate with truck.
Has power to everything. Fuel system is good. Fuses are good s that is why he thinks it is the computer. What would cause the computer to go out while driving?

It may be the scan tool not the computer, try another one to see if it will give codes auto parts does it for free. If auto parts did it do not believe them and go to a mechanic.

This is a common problem and it is usually the scan tool that is at fault.

Please let us know happens so it will help others.

Hey! Well inteyed both my scan tools and both are not hooking up.
My battery is to draines to say for sure or not. I have to charge it and try it again. I also tryed doing a hard reset by disconnecting the battery for a day but like I said it was to drained and one of my scan tools said battery low. I will get back to you and let you know. For the last two weeks I've been focusing my 4Runner and getting it up and running so I have a vehicle to drive back and forth to work. I will keep you posted soon as I figure it out.
