I just replaced the transmission speed sensor. And put new transmission oil in the car. Still runs really good. But the light comes on after 2 blocks and only going 30 MPH. The RPMs run higher than usual. The check engine light has not come on. Transmission oil still was red like it should be and didn't smell burnt.

Hi,

If the overdrive light is flashing, there are diagnostic trouble codes. The scan tool you are using may not be able to retrieve all the trouble codes.

What I am going to recommend is having the can-bus scanned on the vehicle. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module in which they are stored.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care and I'll watch for your reply.

Hi,

I ordered the scanner. And when I plugged it in and ran the scan. It didn't give me any codes. Could it be simply a relay or maybe just the battery? Because now it has been sitting so long the battery has drained.

Hi,

There is a chance that if the battery died, codes were lost. Recharge the battery and see if the problem still exists. If it does, then scan for codes.

Let me know what you find.
