My battery and starter quit working at the same time. I have changed them both. My problem is that when I turn the key on, all the warning lights come on like they're supposed to, including the theft system light, which I don't recall ever seeing before. Regardless, I am in need of a diagram on how to hook up the wires to the starter and solenoid. I have a five-wire system. The positive cable is obvious, as are the ground wire and the ones with small eyelets. My issue is that the purple wire (which is supposed to be the signal wire) has a big eyelet on it, and I seem to remember that it was on the positive bolt on the solenoid, which is where I put it when I hooked up the wires. However, if this is indeed the signal wire, shouldn't it be hooked to the smaller post? My problem with the ignition is that when I turn the key to the start position, nothing happens, not even a click.
please help.

Yep, here is the starter wiring diagrams, it is important to note there are no ground wires that go to the starter. Please check out this guide as well, it could help.

There is only one small wire going to the starter solenoid, but you may have it on the wrong terminal (there are sometimes two). Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
