Morning car is slow to go. I put gear in drive and car will not move. Will have to let up on gas pedal then press down again. Then car runs great. Suggestions?

Check transmission fluid for being low then have a transmission professional look at it. May be time for a rebuild.

Thanks HMAC300. Will take it to favorite local mechanic but he just did oil change, which usually incudes fluid check. Would a rebuild be worth it you think? About 200,000 miles and peeling paint. Only paid $2500 for it 2 years ago. Love the car but may just run it to the ground - no other troubles except will buy a new axel when steering stiffens up in a few months. Thanks.

The worth it thing is up to you I never give advice on this unless I know the car. It will be about 1500-2000 for a rebuild or check around or maybe one from a junk car for cheaper.

To HMAC300. My mechanic said just let it warm up in the morning. At its age, it's not worth a rebuild. Thanks.
