No crank, no start?

Been having an issue with this vehicle not turning or even cranking at all. We have replaced both battery, starter and brake light switch, last time it turned over it was left alone for over 1 week and turned over and ran a few days then same issue again won't start or even try to crank.

Hi,

I just went to the wiring schematics for the starter circuit and I need to know if this has an intelligent key or not.

It sounds like you have done a lot already. I will tell you, the most common problem related to a no crank (no starter engagement) issue is the actual IPDM.

The IPDM (intelligent power distribution module) is basically the underhood fuse panel. Several of the components in it and integral to a printed circuit board (PCB). Because it is a PCB, it is not serviceable. The starter relay, in this case, is integral to the PCB.

I'm not sure why they designed it like this. It is very frustrating if a 5 dollar relay has failed and instead, you have to replace the entire IPDM.

Hi,

That is the intelligent system. There is a starter relay and a starter control relay that work together. Both are integral to the IPDM. (See pic below)

Here is what I would recommend. Rather than just replacing the IPDM, scan the can-bus system to see if there are codes related to the issue.

CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires so they can communicate with each other. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Although I suspect the IPDM is the faulty part, I would feel more comfortable knowing for certain. I'm sure you understand.

Hi,

It appears the intelligent ignition system doesn't recognize the key is present. If you have a spare key, try that. If you don't, we need to have one made that is known good and matches the vehicle.

I attached the diagnostics below.
