Code P1126 indicates a fault with the thermostat function. This code sets when engine coolant temperature does not reach a specified temperature, even though engine has been running for a specified time. Possible cause are:
-Stuck open thermostat
-Thermostat seal leaking
-Defective Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
Are you experiencing any overheating of engine or overcooling (resulting in little to no heat with heater blower on) of engine? If so, you probably need to replace your thermostat. If not, your sensor is faulty and giving the vehicle's computer a false reading.
Replacing a thermostat is quiet simple. If you would like removal/installation instructions for this component, just let me know.
