2. 65000 Kilometres
3. Automatic transmissions
4. - 6. No smells, leaks, or past repairs
My "Service Engine Soon" light has been on for about three weeks.
Whenever I remove my gad cap to fill up there is a long sound of air pressure being released. Also, when I start to fill up gas, at times gas overflow immeditately, even if my tank is on empty. I can successfully fill up witout any overflow if I do it extremely slowly.
Coincidentally, I looked at Transport Canada's website (I'm Canadian) and it says this:
http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/recalls/recall_e.asp?recno=13360
However, when I called Nissan and provided my VIN number they told me my car wasn't part of the recall, even though I seem to have the exact same problem as indicated in the recall.
My questions:
- What can I do if my problem is exactly the same as the recall? Any recourse I can take?
- If the above doesn't work, could my problem be something different, if so, what could it be?
- If, as the recall indicates I need to replace my fuel tank, how much would it cost to have that done at the Nissan repair shop?
I guess, I'm just trying to find out how much money it would cost to get his problem fixed!
Thanks in advance for your answers...
