There is such a wide field of possiblilities. Diagnosing a Check Engine light always starts by retreiving the codes from the computer. Each code has a separate procedure to begin testing and finding the source.
IT would be impossible to randomly guess at this, short of being very lucky. Make sure the shop you use is very capable of diagnosing this.
Do check your owner's manual for the proper name of this light in the event, it is not the CEL, but perhaps a charging light, in which case have the electrical charging system checked.
