Hi,
I was driving the car, I turned on the airconditioner, a few minutes later the spedometer stopped working, then the car started shaking. I figured out what happens is this: when the engine hits 2500 rpm the engine stops and when the rpm fell back under 2500 rpm the engine starts running again. (This causes the shaking). Is there any known issue like this regarding Stanza? What should I do? I was told from friends it is probably a computer issue.

Thank you very much for the help

Hi kutrikb,

I don't know if it is a ECU issue but there are some possibilities with the following.

1. TPS.

2. Insufficient fuel supply, eg, clogged filter, weak fuel pump, faulty regulator.

3. MAF.

Thanks very much.
I don't know what TPS or MAF, but I am looking for their definition.
I am not a technical guy, so I don't know these abbreviations.
But thank you very much for the respond.

Hi kutrikb,

TPS = throttle position sensor

MAF = Mass Air Flow.

You would need diagnostic equipment to check the above unless you want to try swapping.

The fuel system should be checked 1st as they are easier.
