Approximately 1 month ago my maxima misfired when initially starting. I drove it for a minute or two and misfire stopped, then ran fine. SES light came on and diagnostic read cylinder #5 misfire. Replaced all spark plugs to see if that would solve the problem (tested ignition coil #5 and it was good). Ran fine after replacing (but there was only the one misfire incident prior) for approx 400 miles, then SES light came back on, but no driveability issues. 500 miles later SES light turned off. 80 miles later original misfire problem reappeared with SES light. Let it sit for 2 hours and it runs fine, but SES light is still on. I am not sure whether this is a MAF issue or an ignition coil issue, but I am confused as to the scarcity and time length between problems (not sure if ignition coil can gradually go bad, or if it would become a continuous problem). Also noticing more pinging than usual when accelerating. Any suggestions would be helpful.
