Ok this is because you have what is known as a ratcheting caliper. Meaning that the caliper is also used as for the e-brakes as you do not have e-brake shoes in the rotor. So what must be done it is turn the piston then clamp and then twist and clamp till you get it all the way retracted. If you noticed there is a couple of notches on the caliper piston there is a tool that you use that fits these notches and attaches to a ratched and you twist it so you can colaps it. Now once you are done and everything is back together then you use the e-brake to readjust the brakes. Here is a pic of the tool.
