2005 Nissan Altima gas guage

i ran over a tire and my gas guage does not work anymore but it has gas in it and there are no leaks

It sounds like you have a failed fuel level sensor which is part of the fuel pump assembly. This may have been on it's way out and the impact from the running over the tire may have just been enough to cause complete failure. As a back up you may want to get under the rear seat drivers side area of the car and make sure there is no wiring damage from the tire, as this is the area of some fuel pump assembly wiring.
