New battery problems

Went to start my car to warm up and the clicker/remote would not work. So I opened the door with the key. I tried to turn her over, nothing. So I purchased a new battery and put it in and the car alarm starts going off, the engine revved up and the key was not in the ignition.

Try this first. Dead battery in a modern car can cause a multitude of problems.
