One of the 3 bolts snapped into two pieces causing the other two to give way, but the threading was stripped. Crazy thing mount isn't broke but the piece that it bolts to needs replacing since threads were damaged. I don't know the number or name of the part. It's stamped with 6zs32531 but this has not been helpful. Please advise.

You will need to remove the broken bolt, which this video will help with:

Next if the threads are stripped you will need to insert a Heli coil kit, measure the thread size using a wrench, it looks like 10mm.

If the threads cannot be repaired the transmission case will need to be replaced. You may be better off getting a used transmission if the worst should happen. Thanks for the images they helped. Please let us know how it goes.

Hello PMGEIMER75,

That piece, from what it looks like is part of the transmission assembly. It also looks to me like it has been replaced. Looks newer.

Looks like it might be a CVT or Continuously Variable Transmission. Maybe it was replaced under warranty? Normally for that to be replaced it would have to be part of a recall or something similar. I don't see a part number for that particular piece.

I looked and I don't see a particular recall for it though. However, I am only using the general information provided when you started the question.

Have you owned the car since 2014 or did you buy it used?

I am happy to dig deeper for you but would need your VIN to make sure everything is completely accurate. If you don't mind supplying it, I would be happy to see what else I can find. There may be something that pertains specifically to your vehicle plus it will help me get an accurate part number for you if there is one. There are 27 TSB's or Technical Service Bulletins just for the transmission. So, the VIN will also help narrow them down.

Other than that, since the threads stripped out and it appears to be aluminum drilling and tapping new threads isn't going to work. Maybe there is an updated cover made from steel?

Thye only other option would be to replace the whole assembly.

I have added 2 images for you. It may not necessarily be the one in your vehicle, but it should be close. It shows the area I believe we are looking at that seems to be a cover.
I circled it for you but I am adding a blank copy so you can print it out if you need it.

I am also sending an image of all the mounts showing their position. It may not be exact but the areas in which they are located should be about the same. I am wondering if another mount went and caused extra strain on this particular area.

There is one mount I would check in particular. It is under the vehicle, and I have highlighted it in my image.

I can also call my local dealer for you and speak with the parts department.

Thank you,
Brendon
