Mirage is 1.5L and went from burning 1 quart of oil every 4,000 miles to every 3,000 miles to every 1,500 miles in the last 6 months. The car has recently been driven at speeds from 80-90 mph for 500 miles through
hill/mountain terrain. Will this type of driving shorten the life of the engine?

this will put wear on the motor but if your keeping your oil changed every 3000 miles you should be ok but the oil burning may be coming from the wear on the motor espically it being driven like that so make sure you keep your oill changed and your motor will last alot longer
