My speedometer works sometimes, and doesn't work at other times. Of course when the speedometer is not working the odometer doesn't work either. (I don't know if this has anything to do with it but we just bought this car and it had a damaged front bumper and drivers side front fender.) I have repaired these items and found know other damage.

thanks, ken

Hello, this sounds like you have a bad VSS or a poor connection at the instrument cluster connector or the cluster itself has a broken solder joint which disconnected when it gets hot. Can you remove the cluster and check the connector for corrosion please? If clean I would check into the rebuilt cluster. Also here are the locations of the vehicle speed sensor as well. Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

I did the sensor and the speedometer still stops working. Seems to stop when it is warm. I noticed that the tachometer stops working also. What do they both have in common and where do I look for the problem

It seems like it would be the cluster still, can you please check for e loose fuse int he panel this could cause the issue as well.

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
