Engine problem
1995 Mitsubishi Galant Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 217K miles

hello, I have a 1995 Mitsubishi gallant with 217k miles and I just recently changed the oil after not being able to change the oil for a little while and ever since I did that there is a clicking noise when driving and at startup that sounds like someone put a baseball card on the wheel of their bicycle, what would cause this? There is also some black oil on the oil stick when I check the oil, could there still be old oil in there? Please let me know thanks

Car broke down while I was driving, it turns over but wont start, would a blown oil pump cause this?

Yes, it will but it sounds like the oil was not changed for a long time which made the new oil dirty. When this happens the oil pump pick up gets clogged and you lose engine oil pressure which will cause internal engine damage which sounds like what has happened.
