When a battery cell goes bad, what are the causes, and what all should be checked thoroughly to insure that the problem doesn't repeat itself with a new battery. The point here is to understand other items as part of the total engine operation that impacts on a battery; to correct that (?) Problem/item too.

HI there,

If you have one cell collapse this is a battery problem and that is no out side problem that will cause this, if you had a problem in one or more electrical circuits this will affect the battery as a whole not an individual cell, batteries are no where as durable as they once were so single cell failures are more common these days, if the electrolyte is cloudy looking this is a sign that the battery is failing ( lead oxide from the plates liberated into the electrolyte)and it should be replaced sooner rather than later.
