Hello. I am not very handy at all and neither is my wife. She was trying to replace the dead battery of her 2014 Hyundai Elantra SE and was trying to take off the terminals and dropped at least one piece of hardware (she thinks that it may have been a wing nut and then something else) into the abyss. She think it is on the right side (standing from the front of the car looking into the hood) and I tried to use some magnetic pickup tools but could not find it.

Now I am trying to figure out how to properly secure the terminals because I do not know what hardware she is missing.

This is the negative terminal: https://imgur.com/a/1DOzI03

[This is the positive terminal.](https://imgur.com/a/65RdzYz)

Both: https://imgur.com/a/MRO2QTc

And this is all of the hardware that she has from taking things off but I am not sure where they go: https://imgur.com/a/rXIzonQ

Another look at the hardware: https://imgur.com/a/WnwRsEK

Can anyone provide any assistance regarding how I can find out what pieces and what size pieces I need and where they go? It would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is there some type of dedicated website that would have this information?

When looking at the following youtube video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tdNN8GjTZc

It seems I am missing some weird shaped top piece to my negative terminal. Most terminals I see online are all side ways facing bolts and I cannot find anything that looks like the one in the video. I am at a loss for what to do. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

The battery terminals that are on the vehicle are original. The only place you might be able to get the parts is from the dealer. And yes, there are two nuts missing and the cross tensioner is missing on the neg terminal. If you look at the terminal, there are two recessed areas on the sides of the terminal. The cross tensionier that is missing causes the terminal to close as it is tightened.

I have done some research for you. If you contact a dealer, ask them if they can get part numbers:

91982C7010 this is the positive terminal with a retail cost of around 25.00

37180-3X001 this is the negative battery cable. Retail is around 70.00

The OEM parts are expensive and I question if the positive terminal itself will be available. Believe it or not, the positive cable is over $200.00. (Part 91850-3Y110)

I would find the parts she dropped. Check along the lower control arm, the frame. It has to be there somewhere. By the way, the magnet is a great idea.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

Hello, I am Danny.

I have attached two additional pictures as well as your two as to what you are missing. On the positive clamp a nut is missing (circled in red). On the negative clamp the nut and bolt the tightens the connection is missing. Your local auto parts stores should have the replacements. A Hyundai dealership definitely will but will be a little more expensive. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
