I have recently changed all spark plug and wires a few months back. Me Car just turns off one day at a red light by itself. It cranks up but won't start. It didn't give any spark so changed out the distributor now only cylinder number 2 fires the other 3 are dead? Completely lost right now.

Hi,

Have you checked for diagnostic trouble codes? If not, do that so we know what we are dealing with. There are a few things that can be causing it. Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner. If that is the case, see if a local parts store will lend or rent one to you.

I suspect it is related to the ignition control module (ICM) or the crankshaft position sensor (cylinder position sensor). However, if we don't know the codes that are present, we may be replacing good parts.

I attached a pic below for you to see how the aforementioned components are tied into the ignition.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
