When I let off the brake and proceed to give the car gas, there is a minor shake/vibration that lasts for a second or two. As I continue to accelerate, the car runs smoothly. It only shakes from one to five mph and then is fine.

Your insight is appreciated!

Could be a failing motor mount. Or if you are stepping down enough that the engine starts you might feel that. Hard to say without feeling and hearing it.

Can someone else answer the question please? I place the car in drive and let off the brake and there is a slight shake.

Hello,

Yep there is a down side to trying to fix cars over the internet but we try our best, Too me it sounds like the engine is misfiring. Have you replaced the spark plug recently?

If not here is a video that show you how.
