Hello. When I start the car and it's running, a message comes on saying press the brake as if I'm trying to start it without doing so!

Hi,

Does this happen when you try to release the electronic parking brake? I know the foot brake needs pressed before releasing the EPB.

Also, is the parking brake working? Are there any other lights on in addition to the press the brake light? Is there anything that prompts this to turn on or off?

What should be done is to have the computer CAN system scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all modules and computers are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve trouble codes regardless of the module it's stored in.

Here is a video that shows it being done:

Let me know. As far as the light, let me know as much as you can that is happening. I suspect it will need to be scanned. However, I'll try my best to help.

Take care,

Joe
