I own a 1991 Mercury topaz, 2.3L 4cly. The problem is when I go to start my car, it starts, idles for half a second then dies. I had mechanic look at it they were unsuccesfull in finding out what it was, they recommended replacing the computer (ECU). I replaced the ECU and had all the sensors checked,as well as the fuel pressure and vaccum leaks, but the problem still persists. I was wondering what I may be forgetting to check? Before the car got to this state the problem was that when I went to start my car it would start then die, then the next time I started it would be fine. This got worse over time. Any ideas would be great or things I can check would be very helpful.
Thanks,
