2000 Mercury Station Wagon Antenna

The antenna will not go up but I hear clicking noise when I turn radio on as though it is trying to work correctly. Any help would be greatly apprecaited

Hi:
the motor needs replaced. Chances are a gear has gone bad in it and that is the clicking you hear.

Is there no other possible cause as I know replacing the motor will be very expensive and can't afford at this time.

Hi:
That is the only thing that I am familiar with. If you get a motor from a salvage yard, you could try to do it yourself. Or, just raise the antenna all the way and unplug the motor.
