I brougt a used 1999 mercury sable earlier this year. The tranmission started acting up, so I decided to have the whole transmission overhaul. Two weeks ago it was done, and the car stilled appeared to be delaying. So I took it back to the mechanic, who stated I might have an engine problem and suggested I get a tune-up. I took it to Goodyear who advised that no engine codes showed up and after test driving it, informed me that I needed to take it back because it was shifting hard between first and second gears. I am frustrated because the mechanic keeps saying it is something else, because he checked it on his scanner and no codes are coming up. What should I do? And if my old transmission was replaced with a new one, should I have this problem still?
