every time a thunder storm comes I have to replace the throttle position sensor. WHY?My car stalls and dies out

The code said it was the throttle position sensor. Can"t remember the code number cause I took the car to Auto Zone, they put the meter under the dash, that is what the meter told them.I do not under stand why this switch keeps going bad. Some one told me I could have a short some where. What can I do?
