Have purchased new plugs, new plug wires, rotar button, distibutor cap, ignition module, thermostat, and ignition coil.

When it is over 80 degrees outside. If I have to sit in traffic too long or idle too long, car tries to quit with me pressing the gas pedal all the way too the floor trying to prevent it. However, more often than not it does quit and it takes more than a fw hours before I can get it started again. The fan does not come on unless I turn the A/C aswitch on and then flip it to defrost or fan because it is too hard on the motor.

Also I can not drive on the interstate for a period then come to a stop at eh exit because it kills the motor then too. HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP

Check the idle speed control solenoid, MAF and TPS sensors to include the EGR valve.

In hot weather, the car just quits--dead. This problem has been in existence for 2 years now.

You can check the fuel pressure w/o the engine running-get a fuel pressure gauge and give me the readings this is the only way to figure it out if its a fuel pump problem-could be failing when it gets heat up and goes kaput-Could be other areas that are involved-such as the ignition components
